Guardians Lose, but Keep Pace
Well, can’t win them all.
Guards Lose to Twins
After pummeling the Twins all weekend the Twins finally won one, beating Cleveland 6-2. The Guardians scored two in the first but couldn’t muster any offense after that, and Joey Cantillo posted the team’s first poor start in what feels like weeks. It was not that terrible (1 Earned Run in 4 1/3 innings), but he left the bases loaded and needed Erik Sabrowski to bail him out. Hunter Gaddis gave up a big home run, and the bullpen finally blinked. Not a good one, all you can say.
Scoreboard Watching
-The Tigers lost to the Braves, continuing to scuffle in the month of September
-As of this writing the Mariners are beating up the Astros 7-1 in the 4th
-As of this writing the Red Sox are losing to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 in the 3rd
-The Yankees bet the Orioles, and the Rangers lost to the Marlins
If all of that holds Cleveland will still sit a game behind the Tigers in the AL Central and hold the 3rd Wild Card. At this point the Rangers are basically out of it barring a miraculous comeback. The Blue Jays clinched a playoff spot with a win.
